Hi to All,
The game plan is to hear the budget again in a senate committee.
The details of which committee and when it will be heard are forthcoming.
We are asking to restore the $15 million back to the film program.

Please also contact Governor Martinez and ask her to keep her promise:
She says New Mexico is "open for business."
Yet she is insistent on cutting the film & television business almost in half.
Does she not see that billion dollars of state revenue as "business?"

Sample letter to Senators:
March 3, 2011
Dear Honorable Senator,
Please restore the $15 million back to the film program.
The current limit of $45 million is unworkable.
This translates to a 30-50% loss in revenue for the local industry and the state.
The film industry provides an estimated 12,000 union and non union jobs.
The film industry is estimated to have provided state revenue of over $1 billion in the last 7 years.
We must EVALUATE the program before making such drastic cuts.
Thank you for supporting SJM 15 and SB 44.
These bills are critical in providing needed investigation and accountability measures for the industry.
Both bills were passed unanimously, and we thank you.
The film industry is of tremendous economic value for the state of New Mexico.
Please vote to restore the film program.
The $45 million limit will be a devastating to local jobs, and to the business as a whole.
Please do not support the Governor and House in creating these drastic cuts.
Thank you for your support.
