Thank you very much for writing about New Mexico’s successful film incentive program. I appreciate you taking the time to contact me.
I consider myself to be among the strongest supporters of the film industry in the legislature and will do all I can to ensure that the film program continues with a 25% rebate. As you know, continuation of the film program is vital to the future of New Mexico’s economy. We are working hard to find a compromise with the governor and the Republican leadership that will maintain the program at 25%, and I am cautiously optimistic that this goal will be achieved.
It is my hope that this will be the last session we see the introduction of bills that threaten the film industry.
