Legislative update 3/1

Greetings film friends,

There was no vote on budget bill HB 2 today in the House.
The reason for this unknown, but it appears there is push back on our behalf from our democratic allies.
Special thanks to Representative Egolf, Representative Park, Representative Gentry, and also to Senators Keller and Griego.

We want to continue to contact Albuquerque republicans to support the budget with a film limit of no less than $60 million.

Additionally, there is one democratic representative that voted against her caucus on the initial vote in Tax & Revenue Committee.
She chose to vote with the republicans to cut our program substantially.
Representative Sandra Jeff stated the reason for her unfriendly vote was that the film & television industry does not help her constituents in Native America.
If you have information contrary to this that you would like to share, please let her know:
Representative Sandra Jeff:  505-986-4243:  albuqruiz@aol.com

There is hesitation in passing the budget through, which gives us more time to get our message out.
We may have a vote on the budget tomorrow.
We are taking it day by.
No $45 million limit.

Thank you to all.
